Chorus Line in Sacramento

We came up from Santa Cruz in a litteral bus load to see our beloved friend Andrew Roubal perform in Chorus Line. Apparently people also flew out from Oregon, Washington and various other distant locations. We rushed him after the show in a group of 50 or 60 people.

Imagine a bus load of your friends driving for a day to see you…

I don’t remember if he was a student, but he was (and hopefully will be again) one of AAT’s top instructors having choreographed dozen’s of productions. More than anything, he’s a close friend who’s living his dream in spite of the odds. It’s pretty fantastic.

BTW, turns out it was more like 100 fans. In the theatre that holds thousands of people, we made a lot of noise for him.

His mom told us that he would be the 8th person bowing at the end. When the eighth person bowed we all roared t least 8x louder than for any other person. The funny thing is that he was actually number 9. Some of us noticed so he got more of a 4x roar. The guy in position 8 later talked to him saying, “wow, I’m not sure why i got so much more applause than everyone else” to which Andrew replied, “Oh, that was for me.” Oh snap. :)

HAH – that hilarious. Give Lindsey huge props for me. There is nothing more awesome than to help create progeny that touches the world. Super stoked for her.
