I think question number one is the most important of all the questions. After all, when you get into a tight spot, how would you be able to fix your problem if it's not something you believe in? I've always held the belief that being honest with yourself and fusing this with how you work will always help you keep your direction.

When I start to read this article, I know this will be connected to project management :D. It's day to day task and borther me a lot. Nice article and I want the 'beta' invite hahahaha.

I want to attend a Project management class too and keeping trying to make it reality because my laziness. I learn from my colleague who have background in project management and pretty great stuff regarding the impact for creating make sense proposal and quotation, reducing the variable cost and estimating the time of on-going project to real condition.

Thanks for the book too! Inspired me a lot :).

Excellent post. There are no gaurantees whether you use the rifle shot method or the throw everything against the wall method.

Can't wait to see what the project is all about!

Similar to your #1, a condition I have is "Would I use this?". If yes, then I can generate my own motivation for the implementation. If no, I need external motivation to follow through (e.g. money, friends, community). Once that external motivation falls away, the idea wanes and dies.

Were there 'project management classes' in 1908? In 1958? When did the management of projects become an identifiable subject for study? The subject is evidently of vital importance in the modern world.

I like the double thrust of taking the class: learning and meeting like-minded people. Bravo.

Being around people. I do get ideas huddled in my cave staring into the eyes of the dragon but that is rare. Most often my ideas come from interacting with people. Hearing about struggled, need and problems that exists that could use a solution.

Shane, it's great to read your answer in full length. Inspiring.

After finishing reading this post I feel like I'm in a sacred place. As if I need to be careful with what I say not to break the enchantment... Or maybe it's just because it's already past midnight and I'm ready to fall asleep.

Anyway, I have one more question: In your post you explain the questions and thinking that you go through when you are in the idea looking zone. But what is it that triggers you to get to the zone?
