$22 in gasoline
$300 buck for a guide crazy enough to bypass the rangers
$12 stuffed monkey for baby to cuddle
$180 simple point and click camera
Seeing a huge burning flow of lava from 15 feet away, Priceless

We got to walk on the worlds youngest black sand beach (made in the last few hours as the lava gets crushed by the waves). We got to see crazy gobs of lava. I got to poke it with a stick and make a happy face in the lava as it cooled. (Forgot my marshmallows). We saw the lava hit the ocean and make gigantic explosions of steam and hydrochloric acid. Watch the sunrise. A dream come true.
