I have been doing this exact thing every night for several months now and it works great. I found that 6 tasks work best for me, 3 business and 3 personal.

"Smite thy inefficiency" is killer. I love it, love it, love it. Sadly, my plan for tomorrow consists of:

1.) Curl up in corner and sleep.
2.) Repeat as necessary.

Great blog - keep up the good work!

Excellent advice, and thank you for the great resource of this blog.

I am just starting out as a writer, and trying to develop a freelance writing career. I started out not having a to do list at all, which is horribly wrong! I would get stuck every morning with the overwhelming multitude of things to do.

I am more of a night person myself, I will start implementing this advice tonight.

I like the commandments!

That is all too true. Something that I only sometimes do the night before rather than first thing in the morning. You are definitely right that waiting to set your goals for the upcoming day often means the important is completely overlooked by all of the "emergencies" (many of which are things that can honestly wait).

Thanks for the tip! I'm going to work this into my routines as something I do at the end of the day as well. That's also a good time to recap what I've accomplished that particular day (motivational if you actually accomplished what you set out to do).

P.S. Good luck with the house, and enjoy your date night! I've got one with my hubby tomorrow. :)
