Here is the thread: https://theeventscalendar.com/support/forums/topic/recurring-events-adds-random-exclusions/
What I was experiencing had to do with recurrence and so in order to test the problem, with no other plugins and on the default theme, I had to install on a subdomain, create events and wait for months before seeing results.
I can continue here or go back there if you can reopen it. I have updates on the issue.

Thanks for reaching out.
Threads close automatically after two weeks of inactivity from the thread author, so that closed automatically and it’s best to continue the conversation here.
Can you share the system information of the site that you made up on the subdomain? Here is how to share information → https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/sharing-sys-info/
Thanks!

September 16, 2016 at 9:41 pm #1165444blankbeardParticipantAs you can see, I have 3 recurring events set up. They all run on 2 recurrence rules. They erase after a month and make events 2 months at a time. If you look in october, 2 of the events have skipped their second recurrence rule, but still have events created in November.

Thanks for reaching out!
I noticed in your System Information that you’re using Events Calendar Pro 4.2.3, which is an outdated version of the plugin.
Before proceeding further with the investigation here, I would recommend updating Events Calendar Pro to its most current version, 4.2.6. You can find the files for that here → https://theeventscalendar.com/my-account/downloads
Once that is updated, make a new test recurring event. Does it have the same issues as other events you’ve noted thus far?
Thanks!
GeorgeSeptember 19, 2016 at 10:50 pm #1166244blankbeardParticipantI am happy to download and update the pro version, however, I was completely up to date when I made these events and I have been experiencing it on my main site for several months, so I would like to try and get to the bottom of it.
For me to update and create new events will require 2+ months for the problem to occur again and by that time I will be on an outdated version (since I only have a license for one site and it won’t auto update on my subdomain) and we will go through this again.
September 20, 2016 at 7:10 am #1166356GeorgeParticipantHey @blankbeard,
Thanks for your followup.
The reason I recommend updating is that our recent versions of Events Calendar Pro include fixes for some recurrence-related bugs.
As for needing to wait two months, this shouldn’t be necessary — once you get up-to-date with Events Calendar Pro, you can set up a test event with similar recurrence settings as the event you have here, but have it recurring “weekly” or “daily” instead of “monthly”.
(I am referring to this screenshot that shows your recurrence config → https://theeventscalendar.com/content/uploads/2016/06/60d73d977897ce54.png)
If it seems that you don’t have any issues with events on this shorter time frame, then it may be a good indicator that things will be okay going forward with the other events.
If you don’t want to explore this route, then the only thing I can recommend is:
• Update to the most recent version of Events Calendar Pro on your site.
• Set an end date for the recurrence series, and do not leave it so that it ends “Never”. (See the screenshot above of your event config to see how you have it set to ending “Never”).
I am sorry about the limited number of ways forward, @blankbeard. But here’s the thing: even if we did find some issues with Events Calendar Pro 4.2.3, your current version of the plugin, the first step from there would be to update anyways.
Let me know what you think!
Sincerely,
GeorgeSeptember 23, 2016 at 11:07 pm #1168228blankbeardParticipantI am trying to recreate the exact bug I am experiencing on my regular site, that is why I have the settings specifically that way. Additionally, I think the problem is actually happening with the “Create recurring events in advance for” and I have it at 2 months. That is when the problem seems to happen on my main site and it is right where it occurred on the test site. When I notice the missing events I can “edit all” and save all events in a single recurring series, and it solves the problem, but only for the single series.
Even if I run it again with a weekly or daily event, it seems like it will happen again, but not for 2 months. And possibly not at all since it only seems to be excluding the 2nd recurrence rules. I am happy to do it to help you narrow it down, but just know, it won’t happen for a couple of months and that sucks for my 70+ recurring events I have at my venue.
All of that said, I really do love the plugin and appreciate your help thus far, honestly. I will update this weekend and add a few other events with other recurrence specifics.
