On a single category page, clicking the next month will display all events in all categories although the title and URL say it’s a single category.
Thanks for your help!
November 3, 2014 at 2:43 pm #858586BrookParticipantHowdy Bryce,
That’s a predicament. I am not able to recreate that problem in my testing locally. I am running the latest versions of the plugins and WordPress. That means that we should try to do some conflict testing and see if we can isolate the problem on youir end. Perhaps it is a plugin or your theme that are not fully compatible with TEC> IF we know what it is, maybe we can make it compatible.
Here is a guide on testing for conflicts. After running through that, did it reveal and help you isolate the problem? Please let me know if I can help you along the way, or answer other questions. Thanks!

November 5, 2014 at 8:42 am #862323SusanParticipantHi Brook,
I have followed your instructions and am still having this issue. I’ve set the theme to Twenty Thirteen (as well as Twenty Eleven, Twenty Twelve, Twenty Fourteen), deactivated all plugins except for the Events Calendar, deleted my browsers cache (also tested it in multiple browsers/devices) and when the next month is clicked it shows the month’s calendar for the correct category with all events for that month. Refreshing this page will display only the events in that category. Any help is appreciated. Thanks,
BryceNovember 5, 2014 at 9:01 am #862354BrookParticipantThank you very much Bryce. That is super helpful diagnostic information. You are the third person we’ve seen with this problem. But, the first one I am aware of who has responded to the request to test for conflicts.
I have done a lot to try and reproduce this. Unfortunately I am quite unable. Would you be able to provide some or all of the following information so that I can go further?
- Would you mind grabbing your system information and pasting it here? Make sure to use the ‘Set as private reply’ checkbox to protect your private information from the public. You can find the system info by going to WP Admin > Events > Settings, clicking on the “Help” tab, and scrolling down to the ‘System Information’ box. (Or by going to [yoursite]/wp-admin/edit.php?post_type=tribe_events&page=tribe-events-calendar&tab=help) That will give me a lot of extra information to help diagnose the problem.
- Would you be able to export a copy of your database and hand it over to us? Since my data is not yeilding the problem, with your data I will likely be able to recreate it and dive in much further. We totally understand if you do not want to do this! But, if you are willing please email [email protected] and reference this thread in your message. We can arrange a secure way to transfer the file to us with further discussion via email.
- What host are you using? Are you aware of any serverside caching, perhaps a CDN, that might be setup?
Thanks again!

November 5, 2014 at 9:03 am #862357BrookParticipantFollowup question:
4) When did you input the events that are showing up in the wrong category? Were all of them input recently, in the last couple of months? Or are at least some of them older events that have been in there for who knows how long?

BryceNovember 10, 2014 at 10:47 pm #875642BrookParticipantHowdy Bryce,
Thanks again! I apologize, I was not able to test this today with a copy of your database yet to try and reproduce. I will do that tomorrow. Your information is incredibly helpful and I appreciate it!

November 12, 2014 at 4:14 am #879204BrookParticipantI am now able to reproduce this as well with your database. What a quirky bug. Thank you so much for the database dump. I am going to consult with another developer to see if we can find the root cause.

November 12, 2014 at 6:46 am #879509SusanParticipantThanks for the update.
November 17, 2014 at 10:37 pm #888763BrookParticipantAnother update: This is logged as a bug that we are going to try and fix. It is still possible that it will not require any changes update to our plugin. There are still a few unknowns. I will report back as soon as I have more information. Thanks again Bryce for helping us figure this out, couldn’t have made it this far without your database dump. I wish I already had a solution, but such is the nature of bugs. Sometimes they’re tricky.

November 25, 2014 at 11:15 am #898391BrookParticipantHowdy Bryce,
Finally some good news on this front. I figured out what the problem is! Your database was the key, so thanks again.
And now for some better news, it’s fixed in v3.9 of our plugin! While that has not been released yet, if everything goes smooth it will be rather soon!
Thank you Bryce for helping us improve the code. Please let me know if you have any questions. If not, update to 3.9 once it is released and you should be in good order.
