How can I have a Default image show up when when sharing on Facebook/Twitter, when the event I’m sharing does not have an image uploaded for it.
August 27, 2014 at 11:24 am #704473BrianKeymasterHello, I can help you out with that.
The best way to do that is use a plugin like WordPress SEO and add a default Facebook sharing image in the Social Section of that Plugins Setting.
It also adds a Meta Box for each Event with a social section that you can add an image for sharing there too.
Let me know if you need anymore help.
Thanks

http://cypherspot.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/07/calendar2.png
but it says below the box “This image is used if the post/page being shared does not contain any images.”When I try to share this particular event that does not have a “Featured Image”
http://cypherspot.com/event/funkmosphere/2014-08-28/There are three image options and none of them are the default image I chose.
August 28, 2014 at 7:07 am #706473BrianKeymasterI tested the link by dropping it into Facebook and got this image:
It appears that your sharing buttons are not picking up the image. There is not much support I can do for another plugin here, but you do have a default image according to Facebook’s coding.
The creator of those sharing icons, might be a better resource to changing their default image.
Please let me know if you need anything else.
Thanks

However, if I paste this event link directly into Facebook:
http://cypherspot.com/event/funkmosphere/2014-08-28/
I do not get the option for my default (Logo/Calendar) image.August 28, 2014 at 7:35 am #706542BrianKeymasterSorry, I thought I had pasted in the event link not the image link. I could swear I did it and it worked.
So, I ran the Facebook Open Graph Object Debugger: (Asking it to “fetch new scrape information” on your link above)
https://developers.facebook.com/tools/debug/og/object/
And it is now picking up the image when I share the link.
Hopefully, that works for you now because this is a Facebook Open Graph Issue and we do not support that feature on our plugins. So there is not much I can do to help you on this from here. I have tried to give you suggestions on what might work and it looks like it is close so I think you can take it from here.
Thanks
