Fatal Error upon Upgrading to 3.8.1

Every time I attempt to update from 3.7 to 3.8, my entire site goes down and I see the following message:

Fatal error: Class ‘Tribe_Template_Factory’ not found in /nas/wp/www/staging/nbuckland/wp-content/plugins/events-calendar-pro-1/lib/tribe-pro-template-factory.class.php on line 7

Hi nbuckland,

I’m sorry you’ve had such a rough experience while upgrading.

Is it possible that our core plugin – The Events Calendar – was deactivated when you tried to update Events Calendar PRO? If so, can you try updating The Events Calendar first of all, then ensure it is still active, before updating Events Calendar PRO?
