How to upgrade from version 2 to version 3

Need to upgrade the following…
Event calendar 2.0.7 and Event calendar pro 2.0.3.

Downloaded all install packages, planned to install each in sequence until the event calendar was up to date. Updated pro from 2.0.3 by deactivating, uploading 2.0.4, installing and activating it. When trying to install the next pro version 2.0.6, using the same steps the following error was returned…

Unpacking the package…

Installing the plugin…

Destination folder already exists. /home/thobru10/aksaintandrews.org/sta/wp-content/plugins/events-calendar-pro/

Plugin install failed.

How should I go about upgrading?

Thanks for reaching out to us!

Do you happen to have FTP access to the files for your site? If so, you can navigate to the “wp-content” -> “plugins” folder and remove the existing “events-calendar-pro” folder. This will now allow you to upload the updated plugin via the backend of your site like you were doing previously.

Additionally, based on the steps defined here, it looks like you only need to update to 2.0.11 prior to making the jump to 3.0. This should save you a few steps rather than uploading all updated up to 2.0.11.
