When I choose the option of linking the event directly to a custom URL, it’s adding a forward slash, and the URL is not working.
    Eg. google.com/help.htm becomes google.com/help.htm/

Sorry to hear you are experiencing difficulties.

Do you have a specific example or use case that’s worrying you – I do see your menu link to the main events page is …/events and then following the normal pattern in WordPress a trailing slash is appended to the end of that: is this the primary problem and are you able to adjust the URL in the menu editor to workaround this?

The first event in our calendar, I’ve linked to an outside webpage.

    Upcoming Events

The url should be http://www.firstunitarianhamilton.org/BarnwellWorkshop.htm, but instead it’s appending a forward slash to end.
Not sure what you mean about ‘menu editor’.

OK, thanks for clarifying. So is this result of a customization you made? Ordinarily, event titles generated by The Events Calendar don’t link to external URLs.

    Sorry, I think it’s a plugin that I wasn’t aware was installed.
    Thank you for your help.
