Question about iCal/Google Calendar Export

Hello! I’ve been using the free version of the plugin for a few months now and am very happy with it. I’ve utilized most of what I need with it, but now I would like to go further.

We want to be able to export our events to iCal/Google Calendar, and seeing as this is a feature of the Pro version, it seems like a perfect fit. However, before buying, I want to make sure of something….

Will I have the ability to create iCal/Google Calendar links (.ics files presumably?) for each individual link? Or does this function export the entire Calendar all at once? The latter is obviously not preferred. I want my site’s visitors to be able to add individual calendar events to their own personal Calendars at their own discretion.

Hi Ronald,

Thanks for getting in touch and for your interest in Events Calendar PRO.

Your users are able to export individual events to both Google and iCal, using buttons at the bottom of individual event pages (example http://d.pr/i/GuYg). Users can also export the entire calendar to iCal if desired. There is a link at the bottom of the calendar to do this (example http://d.pr/i/GM3w).

Am I in need of the pro version if I want to display my Google Calendar in this plugin?

Hi John,

I’m not sure exactly what you mean- there is no way to sync your Google Calendar with The Events Calendar or display a Google Calendar within the Events Calendar framework. However, Events Calendar PRO does give users an option to import events from Events Calendar PRO to Google Calendar. Does that answer your question?

On our events calendar we only have the link to transfer events to a ical. (http://swingdancecalgary.com/calendar)
Has the google calendar import been removed?

Hi swingcal,

There used to be a separate Export to Google link, but there is now one export link. However, you can add that exported file to Google Calendar or iCal 🙂 You can find instructions for importing to Google Calendar on this page.
