I installed Event Calendar and Event Calendar Pro. I am using Themify.me Music theme, which has its own “events” feature. I have added several events using Event Calendar Pro and they appear at http://www.my-domain/events/ in list view. However, when I click on an event link I get a 404 error message.
I have flushed my permalinks several times, cleared my browser cache.
I checked for conflicts by reverting to the 2013 theme (I have no other active plugins running). When I reverted to the 2013 theme and clicked an event the URL resolved back to the domain name (I didn’t even get a 404 error).
* Does switching your permalink settings to Default fix it?* Yes, that fixed the problem. But, I don’t want to use “default” permalinks.
Oddly, if I manually substitute ‘venue’ for ‘event’ in one of my event post URLs (I believe my first event post) the event appears (i.e. no 404 error). But that URL substitution only works for that one event post.
Example:
http://www.privacybasics.org/event/foundry-inauguration-event/
http://www.privacybasics.org/venue/foundry-inauguration-event/
I am sure this is something very simple and apologize for posting.October 29, 2014 at 2:08 pm #847555BrianKeymasterHi
Sorry for the 404 errors you are having. Thanks for providing all that information as well. It helps narrow this down.
I think they key is that the Theme has its own events and sounds like it has a page named event or registers a post type to use the event slug.
That looks to be causing the conflict.
Is it possible to turn off the events in the theme?
Or you could change the event slug in the Events Calendar
Let me know if you have any follow up questions.
Thanks
