I’ve checked this functionality and was able to get it to work on my local machine. When adding the column, did you go back and hit “Apply” in the bottom left of the filter area?
Additionally, you can follow the Testing for Conflict procedures to see if the issue is being caused by an existing plugin on your site.
I’m sorry I wasn’t able to give you a direct response but hopefully these steps will help point you in the right direction.
