Hi I’m wondering if you could tell me before I buy the pro version of The Events Calendar how it handle user submitted events with WPML. I have a website in 2 languages where I want users to be able to submit events and I would like them to be able to create the events in both languages. So maybe add extra fields for “Name of the events in English” and “Name of the event in other language”. This is just so the events show up in the events list for both languages. Or maybe there is another solution for this with your plugin. Your help with this is very much appreciated. I’ve been looking for a solution for a long time!

    Hi AK,

Thanks for getting in touch. Some users have had trouble using WPML and a similar plugin, qtranslate, with The Events Calendar. We’re working on improving compatibility, but currently using them both may require some tinkering.

I recommend that you check out the Pro forums and read over some of the previous threads on the subject. Here are a few to get you started:
    https://theeventscalendar.com/support/forums/topic/the-events-calendar-pro-and-wpml/
    https://theeventscalendar.com/support/forums/topic/weir-get_comments-behaviour-not-expected-at-all/

If you haven’t already, I also recommend that you try running your site using WPML and our free Events Calendar. The Pro version definitely adds functionality and thus complication, but often checking out the free version with themes and plugins is a good way to predict how things will work with Pro.

I hope that answers your questions. Let me know if there’s anything else I can do to help you out.

    Cheers,
    Leah
